Children and Youth Faith Development
Main Line Unitarian Church welcomes children and youth of all backgrounds to explore, question, and grow in our supportive faith community. Our Sunday programs encourage spiritual development while honoring each child’s unique journey.
Families are invited to register whether they plan to attend in-person church on Sunday mornings, or would like to stay connected, but may not attend regularly on Sundays.
Children and Youth Programs for 2024-25
Nursery Care (Ages 0 to 4)
Our youngest visitors enjoy a nurturing environment with trained, background-checked caregivers every Sunday.
Soul Matters Workshops (Pre-K to 5th Grade)
Children choose their own spiritual exploration through three dynamic workshop spaces
- Play Workshop: Self-directed, values-based play experiences
- Story Workshop: Creative engagement with UU themes and stories
- Spirituality Workshop: Hands-on practice with worship elements and spiritual disciplines
Crossing Paths (6th & 7th Grades)
Young people discover diverse religious traditions through classroom learning, interfaith visits, and guest speakers. This immersive program helps youth understand both their own UU identity and the rich tapestry of world religions.
Youth Group (8th to 12th Grades)
A space where teens build meaningful connections while exploring UU identity through discussion, social justice work, and community activities. For 8th and 9th graders, this forms the foundation of our Coming of Age program, which includes mentorship and collaborative worship creation.

Service Opportunities for Families and Adults
If you’d like to volunteer in the faith development program, we welcome your support! All volunteers must provide current Pennsylvania clearances, and must have been participating at MLUC for at least six months. Please contact the Director of Learning and Families Ministries to volunteer. Instructions on how to obtain your clearances are here.
